1. Use of the Cambridge Early Music (CEM) website (www.cambridgeearlymusic.org)
1.1 By using and/or visiting the CEM website you signify your agreement to these terms and conditions.
1.2 CEM may, in its sole discretion, modify or revise these terms and conditions and any related policies at any time, and you agree to be bound by such modifications or revisions. Nothing in this agreement shall be deemed to confer any third-party rights or benefits.
2. Conditions of Ticket Sales
2.1 Every member of the audience must have a valid ticket.
2.2 Latecomers may be admitted on the advice of the performers, but this cannot be guaranteed.
2.3 Ticket holders consent to the recording and filming of themselves as members of the audience.
2.4 CEM reserves the right to refuse admission or attendance to any patron.
2.5 Children may not be admitted to some events.
2.6 CEM reserves the right to limit the number of concessionary, students and under-18 tickets available at any performance.
2.7 Mobile phones and any other electronic equipment should be silenced before entering the auditorium.
2.8 CEM reserves the right to make any alterations to an advertised programme rendered necessary by unavoidable causes.
2.9 Tickets must not be re-sold for profit or commercial gain by any outlet other than CEM. Failure to comply will make tickets void. Your statutory rights are not affected.
2.10 Refunds are only offered if the concert is cancelled or if it is sold-out and the ticket(s) can be re-sold.
2.11 If you need to return your tickets, CEM can offer a Voucher valid for 6 months to be spent on any of our concerts. Tickets must be returned to the Box Office (info@cambridgeearlymusic.org) at least two weeks prior to the concert.
3. Conditions of Summer School Bookings
3.1 Each applicant must fully complete the online application form. Completion of the application form commits you to payment of the full course fees if you are accepted and signifies your agreement to these terms and conditions.
3.2 A deposit of £200 per course must accompany each application. The £200 deposit is non-returnable unless we are unable to accept you for the course. Please try to send the full fee rather than just the deposit if you possibly can: this helps our cash flow enormously, and could save you bank charges, especially if you live outside the UK. Please note: your final bill will be adjusted to reflect any discrepancy in foreign exchange rates or bank charges.
3.3 The balance of fees is due two weeks after you receive notification of acceptance. Beyond this date, your place cannot be guaranteed unless full payment has been received. Please note the date in your diary.
3.4 If you have been accepted for a course and we are advised of your cancellation earlier than two weeks after you receive notification of acceptance we will retain the deposit but refund any additional payment made. If you cancel later than two weeks after you receive notification of acceptance, the full fee is forfeited unless you can find a suitable substitute, in which case only the deposit will be retained by CEM. We strongly recommend that you take out insurance to cover cancellation costs.
3.5 If we cannot initially accept you for the course we will put your name on a waiting list and hold your payment. If a place becomes available we will notify you, and the condition above will take effect. If you have been put on the waiting list you may withdraw at any time and your full payment will be refunded. Please tell us immediately if you decide to withdraw from the waiting list.
3.6 You are advised to insure your own instruments and valuables. Neither Cambridge Early Music nor the venue can take responsibility for loss or damage to your personal property.
3.7 Participants who are found to have seriously over-estimated their ability will be invited to listen to small ensemble sessions. CEM reserves the right to refuse applications on grounds of musical ability, experience and overall balance of course membership.
3.8 CEM reserves the right to change without notice the tutors, performers, concert details and course programmes.
3.9 The minimum age for resident participants is normally 18, but we can take 16 and 17-year-olds, only if either non-resident or as a resident student accompanied by a resident parent
3.10 Smoking is not permitted indoors during the courses.
3.11 CEM uses photographic images of course participants in publicity and PR material. By submitting an application, you are giving your consent for these images to be used.
3.12 CEM encourages informal music-making and the formation of self-organised groups throughout the duration of the course. Please let us know if you would not like to share your email and voice instrument details with other participants in advance of the course.
3.13 CEM is committed to environmental sustainability and aims to reduce its paper waste wherever possible; confirmation of booking & other information will be sent only by email.
