Cambridge Early Music Summer Schools

  1. Each applicant should complete both pages of the application form. Completion of the application form commits you to payment of the full course fees if your application is accepted.
  2. A deposit of £200 per course must accompany each application. The £200 deposit is non-returnable unless we are unable to accept you for the course. Please try to send the full fee rather than just the deposit if you possibly can: this helps our cash flow enormously, and could save you bank charges, especially if you live outside the UK.
  3. The balance of fees is due by 31st May 2015. Beyond this date, your place cannot be guaranteed unless full payment has been received. Please note the date in your diary.
  4. If you have been accepted for a course and we are advised of your cancellation before 31st May 2015 we will retain the deposit but refund any additional payment made. If you cancel on or after 31st May, the full fee is forfeited unless you can find a suitable substitute, in which case only the deposit will be retained by CEM. We strongly recommend that you take out insurance to cover cancellation costs.
  5. If we cannot initially accept you for the course we will put your name on a waiting list and hold your payment. If a place becomes available we will notify you, and the condition above will take effect. If you have been put on the waiting list you may withdraw at any time and your full payment will be refunded. Please tell us immediately if you decide to withdraw from the waiting list.
  6. You are advised to insure your own instruments and valuables. Neither Cambridge Early Music nor Sidney Sussex College can take responsibility for loss or damage to your personal property.
  7. Participants who are found to have seriously over-estimated their ability will be invited to listen to small ensemble sessions.
  8. CEM reserves the right to change without notice the tutors, performers, concert details and course programmes.
  9. The minimum age for resident participants at Sidney is normally 18, but younger applicants are also very welcome as non-residents.
  10. Smoking is not permitted indoors during the courses.
  11. CEM uses photographic images of course participants in publicity and PR material. By submitting an application, you are giving your consent for these images to be used.
  12. CEM encourages informal music-making and the formation of self-organised groups throughout the duration of the course. Please let us know if you would not like to share your email and voice instrument details with other participants in advance of the course.
