More music by the brilliant Lassus, ranging from powerful large-scale polychoral motets, embracing the full range of wind instruments from recorders and flutes to racketts and dulcians, through bawdy carnival songs. to achingly beautiful French chansons. The concert also features the splendidly sumptuous 24-part Mass by Annibale Padovano, who was championed by Lassus, and stanzas from the master's own Lagrime di San Pietro performed by singers, viols and lutes.
