Music from the 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th and 21st centuries
The vocal ensemble Trio Mediaeval will be joined by Norwegian trumpet player/singer Arve Henriksen for a concert in which medieval, contemporary and improvised elements merge. Medieval music, featuring 12th-century Italian Laude, 13th-century French Notre Dame repertoire and Norwegian medieval ballads will be performed alongside a number of newly commissioned pieces composed to medieval texts specifically for these four musicians by Andrew Smith and Jon Balke. The improvised sections will happen when they happen...
