Cambridge Early Music Concerts 2009

UNE CHOSE DÉLECTABLE AUX FLEUSTES

Zephyrus Flutes with Jacob Heringman (lute) and David Hatcher (viol)

4.00 pm, Sunday 2 August, 2009

The name of Nancy Hadden is synonymous with the Renaissance and Baroque flute. As a soloist and with Circa 1500 she is known and loved all over the world. BBC Music Magazine enthuses about her: 'compelling performances and effortless virtuosity... this is playing that lingers in the memory'. Nancy brings her Renaissance flute consort, Zephyrus Flutes, to Cambridge for the first time with this entrancing programme. They will be playing on a matched set of instruments made by Martin Wenner, copied from originals in the Accademia Filarmonica of Verona. The concert includes chansons and dances by Josquin des Prez, Thomas Crecquillon, Pierre Attaingnant, Claudin de Sermisy and Nicolas Gombert.
